 TIPS FOR THE TRAVELLER
  • Remember to do leg, arm and neck exercises in your seat. All airlines suggest a set of exercises and it is advisable to do them. Long flights can cause blood clots (deep vein thrombosis), so move your limbs around to get your circulation going.
  • Business trips are stressful. Exercise before you leave and on arrival too. Even a brisk walk around the hotel where you are staying will get your brain cells functioning efficiently. Airports are large, so walk around briskly for 10 minutes just before your flight.
  • Don't drink too much alcohol on the flight. It will make you feel sluggish on arrival and increases jetlag. Water is a good substitute.
  • If you are staying in a hotel with a gym, try to fit a half-hour workout into your schedule. It is beneficial.
